I’m Bi, and Now You Have Some Questions I’ll Answer: (2013)

Comin’ out bi ain’t no walk in the park.

Question I always, always, always get:
“So if you’re with a woman, does that mean you’ll date a man on the side?”
Or sometimes it’s phrased like a statement:
“At some point you’ll have to choose.”

Folks, I’m bi,
Not a sex addict.
Just ‘cause I think most folks are beautiful,
Doesn’t mean I don’t believe in monogamy,
and just because I believe in that,
doesn’t mean I won’t think most folks are beautiful.

I been dreamin’ about men with scratchy beards lockin’ lips with mine,
Since I been dreamin’ about a woman tyin’ me up.

I don’t have to express both:
Livin’ with folks who maybe don’t yet understand,
Don’t mean they’re bad folks,
But they might worry I’m dreamin’ of them off in my bedroom,
And it ain’t like that, so I don’t worry them,
I don’t tell them,
But I do wish it weren’t like that.
I can pass for straight,
Hell, I’ll likely marry straight,
and I’ll be faithful ‘n true,

but that don’t mean I don’t know what his dick tastes like,
and it don’t mean I won’t dream about men with scratchy beards.

Ain’t no different than dreamin’ about a woman that ain’t your wife,
about a man that ain’t your husband.

Only choose I’ll make is when I say “I do.”
And even if it’s a woman on the other side of that aisle,
that won’t make me straight.
