poems are for poets,
as it should be,
stay away from this contest,
or consequences there will be.
Ladies and gentlemen, a note from the poets. I feel it is my obligation to inform you that participating in this contest will be dangerous, but I feel it is also my obligation to point out that poem wasn’t really very good. I’m pretty sure you could do better.
So I’ll leave it to you. No one will force you to fight, but the poets have gone too long unchallenged, killed too many of our friends and fellow people, overthrown too many of our governments, and written far too many sappy greeting cards. If you want to stand up against them, submit your poem by Friday 10/17.
