Narrative;Lye;Krypton (2015)

People are telling their engagement stories;I’m gonna lie to you for a while.
                (Stephen, I can’t accept this, you didn’t complete the assignment.)
And the planets all looked west,
and Superman 2 flew down from the sky
    (the special edition steel-book Blu-Ray edition, just $59.99)
using it’s great strength the push the world counter-clockwise
    {not to say counter-clockwise the direction;
        more like counter-clockwise the idea,
        a metaphor or some shit}
and turn back time.
she never met that friend,
and I never got anxious,
she didn’t like me so much,
or maybe she liked me enough to care,
or maybe I chose to lie,
or maybe,or maybe,or maybe.
The Superman 2 steel-book kills all of the extra schrodinger realities,
one-two heat beams from it’s machine etched eyes,
a little frost breath just to make sure,
followed by plastic wrap super-logo: to seal the freshness.
Now, she and I are looking at each other across the face of everything,
me on knee,
her hands up to her heart,
each beat making her fingers flap as if, as if, as if,
and *more importantly* all these years later;I’d be telling engagement stories too.
                                    ’stead,
                                    I’ve got this story about how I left an engagement ring,
                                    just below a coffee maker in a rest-stop on the way home,
                                    figured I wasn’t using it,
                                    and I wasn’t giving it back.
                                    Hope it made somethin’ worthwhile,
                                    that last pawn payment maybe,
                                    some perfect proposal,
                                    the means to quit a dead end job.
                                    now, pardon,
me and this steelbook need some catching up.
’n mind them semi-colons.
