Untitled #367 (2013)

Oh, well, hey Burning Muse (via Noelle Wonder [ordinarywonder]), you featured that poem of mine on your page. I’m flattered.
A little surprised that you were prowling through my archives, since it’s a little ways back there, but I’m glad you liked it. 🙂 Glad so many people liked it, actually.
On that matter, hello new folks. I made you something. It’s not as polished as Let’s Get Drunk and Yell This Out (which is a poetry ebook I wrote that you should read. Seriously, it’s free, or if you’re exceptionally nice you can buy it on Amazon or Barnes and Noble), but it’s a rough-shod e-chapbook of my favorite (longer) poems. I call it, Shit you missed that I wish you hadn’t.
My suggestion is to download that file; the Google Docs reader does weird things with the font that aren’t in the actual PDF. It’s all stuff you can find here on the blog, but it’s free, it’s easily downloadable (maybe portable; you could put it on a jump drive, and put that jump drive on a sandwich, and eat the sandwich. Then I would be inside of you–on second thought, I don’t know how to feel about that. Maybe don’t eat this chapbook.), and they’re my recent favorites, so 😛
Setlist for those interested:
“Sugar-cookie candles”
“Arkansas Stubborn”
“60 round championship: prize fightin’ (pain worth puttin’ her on vicodin)”
“Aquifer”
“Quarter Pack Pissed”
“Millennial”
“A Personal Ad Cut Out With Left Handed Scissors”
“fist-i-cuffs”
“Grain Elevators” – Companion piece to “To the 71 notes…”
“Dandy(lions)”
“Switch Tracks”
Think of this as an introduction crash-course to the poetry I try to write. These are the pieces I think are most like the ideal I’m striving towards.
